Immune system and its importance
To be a successful business woman it is vital you have the mental and physical abilities to do your job efficiently. Without a healthy immune system, you career may suffer. Take this time to read about the ways you can boost your immune system so your business can thrive.
Say goodbye to the cigarettes
Smoking can be one of the biggest immune suppressors out there. So yes, you may find it’s a great feeling to relax with a cigarette every couple of hours but it will increase your risk for infections and illnesses. Your immune system will turn against you and begin to destroy your cells. We know that quitting is not easy, but for the sake of your personal and business life, it will be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made.
Avoid overdoing the alcohol
Alcohol will weaken your immune system. As women, we have to be cautious and moderate our intake. Women should drink no more than 10 drinks per week, and no more than 2 per day while taking a couple days off every week.
Eat healthy
Fruits, veggies, and grains all play a huge role in your ability to fight off disease. Keep your diet full of colorful, plant-based foods, and you’ll begin to feel and look better. Think of a rainbow diet. Choose a variety of colorful foods like strawberries, blueberries, spinach, sweet potatos, bananas, and eggplant. Eat yogurt for your daily intake of probiotics and indulge in potent foods like garlic to tackle any signs of illness.
Exercise
As much as you hate the word it is necessary that you elevate your heart rate, strengthen your muscles, and pay attention to improving your flexibility. Exercising 30 – 60 minutes a day can drastically change your life. It will lower blood pressure, boost your immune system, and reverse the aging process. Anything from swimming, to walking, to a sport of your choice will be beneficial for your body’s health.
Achieve Adequate Sleep
If you rest your body adequately you will recharge your immune system. Lack of sleep is a condition that affects too many people. It literally zaps your ability to fight off allergies, illnesses, and diseases so making sure you get the amount of sleep that works best for you is vital. Experiment and decide how many hours you need. Most people function best between 7 and 9 hours per night.
Wash your hands
We cannot stress this enough. Keeping your hands free from germs will prove to be priceless. This helps to stop any virus in its tracks.
Destress
Stressing about life and work will absolutely lower your immune system. Taking the time to breathe, to meditate, and to relax can increase your body’s ability to fight off any bugs. Practice yoga, read a book, enjoy a massage, or simply take a few minutes to breathe and recite positive affirmations.
So remember that when it comes to your business you need to take care of yourself first and foremost. Once your “oxygen mask is securely fastened” you have the ability to help and inspire others to work hard and be healthy.
