“Karma is never good nor bad. Karma is just Karma, it’s just a result of actions,” says medium Josie Grouse. Ultimately, Karma is the idea that your thoughts, words and actions all come back to you in one way or another. It could be instantly, or it could take decades to experience the consequences. Many of us see Karma as a type of bank account for the spiritual life. The idea is that if we put good things in, we will reap the rewards, and vice versa. So, improving Karma is a way to bring on positive results in every aspect of our lives. But how do we do that?
As I was searching for the answer, I discovered the 12 laws of Karma. Each one of these laws come in to play when learning to manifest good things in your personal and business life.
The 12 Laws of Karma
1. The law of Cause and Affect – Actions are ultimately balanced out by reactions.
2. The law of Creation – You are the creator, the director of your life story. Blaming others only stunts your chance for happiness.
3. The law of Humility – Accepting that you are merely human, and will make mistakes can help you see others in the same light. This will help you embrace forgiveness, understanding, and patience.
4. The law of Growth – The seeds you plant will grow because creation is continuous and has a greater purpose.
5. The law of Responsibility – How do you react to difficult situations you encounter? Your responsibility is to respond appropriately; this way you keep your power which can be used to solve the problem.
6. The law of Connection – Every life situation unfolds in sequence. Steps need to be taken in a particular order to achieve the desired result.
7. The law of Focus – It is impossible to think or do two things at one time. Fill your thoughts, words and actions with positivity and there will be no room for despair, anger, jealousy, or hatred.
8. The law of Giving – Serving others is the ultimate way to preserve happiness in your own life.
9. The law of Change – If you don’t change things, they will stay the same. This is how we learn our life lessons. When the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of changing, this is when we morph into someone new.
10. The law of Here and Now – Living in the present allows you to stay focused. Beating yourself up about the past or worrying about the future simply takes away your ability to enjoy the present moment, which is the only valuable thing we have.
11. The law of Patience/Reward – Good things take time and effort. Never expect rewards to come easily or quickly. Entitlement is a delusion that is brought on by your ego. When entitlement is present it is impossible to be grateful.
12. The law of Significance and Inspiration – You will get back whatever you put in. Keep your intentions pure and you will leave a positive impression.
Being aware of these 12 laws will help you adjust your patterns and habits. But with automatic reactions that have become so frustratingly predictable, you need to intentionally take the time and energy to change. Catching those moments in their tracks can be tricky.
Meditation is one way to redirect any pessimistic thoughts and replace them with love, kindness, forgiveness, and generosity. The more you practice calming your mind and changing the way you see yourself and others, the easier these laws can be incorporated into your life. Eventually positive responses will become automatic.
Meditation
Meditation is an amazing way to change the way your mind works. Karma works on a thought-word-action basis and even if a negative thought is simply a thought, it can still affect your mind and your body. This is why you must change your actions, your words, and your thoughts if you intend to increase your positive Karma. A strategic way to do this is to meditate.
Stillness – Use a comfortable position to bring yourself back into the present moment.
Breath – Slow down your breath, and make it intentional.
Visualization – Replace negative thoughts with positive, enlightening ones. Over and over again, eventually any toxicity you hold will become fewer and far between.
Think, say, and do good things. Be kind, loving, and non judgemental. All these will help you tame your ego, and improve your Karma. When you begin to see the things you are grateful for on a daily basis you will be inspired to be generous in many ways. All of this comes full circle.
Use these laws of Karma to build a legacy within yourself, your business, and your family.
