The drive to consistently learn is one of the main common denominators of all successful entrepreneurs. The best and most realistic way to educate yourself regularly is to read. Read books, magazines, blog posts, newsletters, and studies as often as you can. It will help you succeed, and surpass other women when it comes to business.
Knowledge is power. Read to discover it.
Reading gives you the opportunity to learn, especially if you haven’t been trained in a specific subject. So it’s crucial that you continue your education in order to keep up-to-date with current trends and ideas. If you immerse yourself into an unfamiliar task it can end up being a game of trial and error, or even cat and mouse. Why not read a book written by an expert and cut out common mistakes?
Discover your role models
Talking about experts, I strongly suggest you seek the advice from mentors so that you will have the opportunity to model their behavior and thinking. Modeling is when you physically, mentally, and intellectually copy the behaviors of your business icons. Read what they have to say, and then begin to experience the success that they have. Your mind and attitude will evolve, and you’ll find the true meaning of knowledge being power.
Reading manifests ideas
If we rely solely on what current experts have to say we limit ourselves to the theories of those who are no longer with us. Make sure that you also search for the types of books that are gems from the past, and brilliant just the same. Tai Lopez is a philanthropist and investor who came from rags to riches. He says, “books, you should see as hidden treasure.” Pick a set of 150 of these gifts, and read them over and over again. You’ll be surprised at how many new nuggets you find each time you read them. Record them and practice the ideas they suggest.
So once you’ve picked a book, or maybe a few, storing them in your mind can be tough. Buy a journal and physically write down any interesting or useful information as you read. Reread your summary, and highlight any ideas that stand out to you. Recording and absorbing the information you take in is just as important as reading it initially.
