A vision board enhances your positive thoughts
As a teenage girl I remember leafing through magazines and tearing out pictures of cute celebrities, beautiful houses, and stylish accesories. I would stick them all over my bedroom walls, and it became a massive collage that I was in the centre of. Little did I know I was making my own deconstructed vision board.
How does the vision board work?
Everything in the world is a mass of vibrating energy, a vision board can harness the law of attraction by sending out good vibrations. These vibrations are created by positive emotions, that once you tap into, the boomerang effect kicks in. The idea suggests that what we put out is what we receive. Jack Canfield, an award winning motivational speaker and coach, explained it like this. ‘Emotions are the vibrational energy that activates the Law of Attraction.’ So visualizing the things you want will ignite positive feelings and events. This is the first step to creating your vision board.
Visualize: See your personal and business goals clearly in your mind’s eye. Practice visualizing, it doesn’t come naturally to a lot of us. The pictures may be dull or blurry, but trust me when I say that they become crisp with practice.
Feel: Let the emotions that erupt be big, don’t hold back. If they aren’t enticing enough to you then think bigger. Feel the thrill of closing that next deal or the joy of spending more time with family. All of those frequencies matter in the attraction process.
How should you construct your vision board?
With a clearer vision in your head, you can match the images to those from magazines, newspapers, photographs, stickers, artwork or anything that sparks happiness. Take a trip to a bookstore or find your creative flair at a craft shop. Be on the lookout for things that you wouldn’t normally gravitate towards since you could surprise yourself with unexpected inspiration. You will also need scissors, glue/tape and bristol board, or any other medium you’d like to use.

Make your experience a meditative journey so set aside enough time to open up. Pour yourself a cup of tea or glass of wine, and make sure your cat is not in the room. Play your favourite music or light a scented candle. With the atmosphere set, gather the elements you want to express. Let the monotony of cutting out pictures help you zone in deeper. When you paste the pictures on your board begin to imagine that they have already come true and continue to think this way until they do. Be proud of what you want to create for yourself. Use motivational quotes and eye catching colours that have meaning to you, but avoid too much clutter, it could be overstimulating rather than clear and concise.
How do you use your vision board?
Once your board is complete you need to place it in multiple spots that you see it often. In your washroom or kitchen, or how about your nightstand? Then take a picture of it and put it on your computer, tablet, and phone. The more you think about your goals and believe you already have achieved them, the more the energy will flow. This opens you up to receiving.
Your vision board should constantly remind you of the beauty life has to offer, but the magic happens in the vibrations of our emotions. If you focus on health and prosperity that’s what you’ll most likely get and vice versa. So spend time everyday to dream, and dream big, it is just as important as achieving the goal itself.
See Ellen’s vision board for #Oprah.
In the video Ellen explains that her goal is to be on the front page of ‘O’. Her vision board worked, not once but twice. Little did #Ellen know the sequel was still coming #findingdory. It took long enough.
This is the best explanation of a vision board I have seen. Good job!
Thank you for such a wonderful compliment
